What Is a Ductless Unit?

Posted on: February 9, 2012

Ductless heating and air conditioning units are designed with a indoor air handler which in most cases mounts on the wall but is also available for ceiling mounting. There is no duct work used with the wall or ceiling mount units. The air is pulled in to the air handler the either heated or cooled and returned into the space it is conditioning. Refrigerant lines connect the air handler and outdoor condensing unit. These are available for commercial and residential use. These are very handy when there is an addition on the home that is not getting enough air. Some people like to condition a garage and ductless heating and a/c units fit the bill well. Computer and phone rooms in commercial buildings that generate excess heat can have proper temperature control using one of these systems.
